Macbeth, Again! Rehearsal Day 10

Friday was the last day of training before the Japanese group's arrival. We started out with the Kyokotsu exercise and a few Suzuki exercises. Then we spent the rest of the rehearsal on working on the first few scenes, which require a good amount of synchronization and concentration from every character on the stage. After we did a few times, it became clear to me that we would need to practice the scenes together more to get the timing right. It would be quite a thing to watch if we could pull off these complex scenes where several different worlds intertwine. I don't want to give away too much of the show's content, so, I won't write any more about the today's rehearsal. All in all, we ended the session with a good collective feeling. As the training leader, I can only hope that we got ourselves ready both physically and mentally for the intensive process with the Japanese artists.

From now on, the rehearsal process will be directed by Akira Hino. I will be his interpreter and also one of the principle performers. I'm very much looking forward to his and others' arrival next week.

Yet another journey is about to take off.

In the meantime, here are some photos from the past rehearsals. All the photos were taken by Leandro Lefa.
