Real Contact Begins.. Again!

Exactly 3 years ago, on November 29th, 2012, "Macbeth, Again" premiered at Ayanokuni Saitama Arts Theatre in Japan. It was the third full-production of Real Contact Project. I was performing in it as an actor. It was definitely one of the highlights of my acting career because I got to work with percussionist Ikki Hino, actor Hideyuki Hiraoka, and dancer Nobuko Takahara for the first time. And, needleless to say, I was very grateful to Akira Hino, the director and my teacher, for casting and directing me in the production.

"Macbeth, Again" restored my faith in performing arts. The rawness of passion exploding from each and every performer on the stage was so visceral that I felt feverish in the most exhilarating way.

It was the day when I decided that no matter how hard and arduous it might be, I would do "this" again. The passion that blows away any concept, style, or genre and connects everyone in the space.

I wanted to start this blog on such a special day.

It is also the day the international version of "Real Contact" begings.

I live in Finland now. I don't get to work with Hino sensei as much as I'd like to. So, I've got this idea that I could invite Hino sensei and other Japanese artists to Finland to make a performance with my Finnish artists friends.

So far, everyone is excited about the possibility. Now I need to move it forward.

I've collected the core team to make it happen. I've been applying for a lot of grants. I've been trying to arrange spaces for the workshop, rehearsals, and performanes, etc.

This website and this blog you're reading now are also a part of a long-term effort to actualize the plan.
